Habitable Zone
Habitable Zone (HZ) is the region around a star where a planet with suitable atmospheric pressure can maintain liquid water on its surface. This region is also known as the Goldilocks Zone because it is not too hot or too cold for life as we know it to exist. The boundaries of the HZ depend on the star's luminosity, temperature, and size, as well as the planet's atmospheric composition and pressure. The inner edge of the HZ is defined by the point where a planet's water would evaporate, while the outer edge is defined by the point where a planet's water would freeze. The HZ is a key concept in the search for extraterrestrial life, as it provides a way to narrow down the number of potentially habitable planets that could be targeted for further study.
