Guidance, Navigation, And Control (GNC)
Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) is a subsystem of a spacecraft that is responsible for controlling the spacecraft's orientation, position, and velocity. GNC systems use sensors to measure the spacecraft's current state and compare it to the desired state, and then use actuators to adjust the spacecraft's trajectory as needed. The guidance component of GNC determines the optimal path for the spacecraft to follow, while the navigation component determines the spacecraft's current position and velocity. The control component then uses this information to adjust the spacecraft's thrusters or other propulsion systems to keep it on course. GNC is critical for the success of any space mission, as it ensures that the spacecraft reaches its intended destination and performs its mission objectives.
