Ground Control Centers
Ground Control Centers (GCCs) are facilities that are responsible for monitoring and controlling spacecraft and satellites from the ground. These centers are staffed by teams of engineers and technicians who communicate with spacecraft using a variety of tracking and communication systems. GCCs are responsible for ensuring that spacecraft are operating correctly, monitoring their health and status, and making any necessary adjustments to their trajectory or operations. They also provide support to astronauts on board the International Space Station (ISS) and other crewed spacecraft. GCCs are critical to the success of space missions, as they provide the link between spacecraft and the teams on the ground who are responsible for their operation.
