Ground-based Testing

Ground-based testing refers to the process of testing space and astronautical systems and components on Earth, prior to their launch into space. This type of testing is essential to ensure that the systems and components are functioning properly and are able to withstand the harsh conditions of space. Ground-based testing can include a range of activities, such as environmental testing, vibration testing, and electromagnetic compatibility testing. Environmental testing involves subjecting the systems and components to extreme temperatures, vacuum conditions, and radiation levels that they will encounter in space. Vibration testing is used to simulate the mechanical stresses that the systems and components will experience during launch and operation. Electromagnetic compatibility testing ensures that the systems and components do not interfere with each other or with other equipment on the spacecraft.
