Giant Planets

Giant planets are a class of planets that are primarily composed of hydrogen and helium and are much larger than the terrestrial planets. They are also known as Jovian planets, after Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system. Giant planets have thick atmospheres with many layers of clouds, and they have strong magnetic fields. They are typically located farther from their star than terrestrial planets and have longer orbital periods. The four giant planets in our solar system are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
