Gas-based Systems
Gas-based systems refer to the propulsion systems that use gases, such as hydrogen, oxygen, methane, and nitrogen, as fuel to generate thrust and propel spacecraft. These systems are commonly used in rocket engines, where the gases are combusted to produce high-temperature and high-pressure exhaust gases that are expelled through a nozzle to create thrust. Gas-based systems are also used in life support systems, where they provide breathable air and remove carbon dioxide and other contaminants from the spacecraft's atmosphere. In addition, gas-based systems are used in thermal control systems, where they regulate the temperature of the spacecraft by transferring heat to or from the spacecraft using gases as a working fluid.
