Galaxy Formation

Galaxy Formation is the process by which galaxies are formed from the gravitational collapse of a cloud of gas, dust, and dark matter. The process begins with small perturbations in the density of the universe, which grow over time due to gravity. As the density increases, the gas and dust begin to collapse under their own weight, forming a protostar at the center. As the protostar grows, it begins to heat up and ignite, becoming a star. The remaining gas and dust in the cloud begin to orbit the star, forming a protoplanetary disk. Over time, the protoplanetary disk coalesces into planets, asteroids, and other celestial bodies. As more and more stars form in the cloud, they begin to interact with each other, eventually forming a galaxy.
