Emissivity
Emissivity is the measure of a material's ability to emit thermal radiation. In space and astronautical engineering, emissivity is an important property to consider when designing spacecraft and their components. A material with high emissivity will radiate heat more efficiently than a material with low emissivity. This is important for controlling the temperature of spacecraft and their components, as well as for thermal management during re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere. Emissivity is also a key factor in the design of thermal control coatings and paints, which are used to regulate the temperature of spacecraft surfaces. In addition, emissivity is an important consideration in the design of radiators and other heat transfer devices used in spacecraft thermal control systems.
