EMI

EMI stands for Electromagnetic Interference. It refers to the disturbance caused by an electromagnetic field on an electronic device or system. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, EMI can be a serious problem as it can affect the performance of spacecraft and their electronic systems. EMI can be caused by natural sources such as solar flares or by human-made sources such as radio frequency emissions from other spacecraft or ground-based communication systems. Engineers use various techniques to mitigate EMI, such as shielding, filtering, and grounding. Failure to address EMI can result in data corruption, system malfunctions, or even complete failure of the spacecraft.
