Compartment

In space and astronautical engineering, a compartment refers to an enclosed space within a spacecraft or a space station that is designed to house equipment, experiments, or crew members. Compartments are typically sealed off from the rest of the spacecraft to prevent contamination, regulate temperature and pressure, and provide a safe environment for the occupants. They may also be equipped with life support systems, communication equipment, and other necessary facilities. Compartments can vary in size and shape depending on their intended use and the spacecraft's design. Some compartments may be pressurized while others may be designed to operate in a vacuum. The design and construction of compartments are critical to the success of any space mission, as they must be able to withstand the harsh conditions of space and provide a reliable and safe environment for the occupants.
