Command And Data Handling

Command and Data Handling (CDH) is a subsystem of a spacecraft that manages the communication between the spacecraft and the ground station. It is responsible for receiving and executing commands from the ground station, collecting and storing data from various sensors and instruments on the spacecraft, and transmitting the data back to the ground station. The CDH subsystem includes the onboard computer, data storage devices, communication interfaces, and software that controls the operation of these components. The CDH subsystem is critical for the success of a space mission as it ensures that the spacecraft is operating as intended and that the data collected by the spacecraft is transmitted back to Earth for analysis.
