Cardiovascular Problems

Cardiovascular problems refer to any medical condition that affects the heart and blood vessels. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, cardiovascular problems are of particular concern due to the unique physiological changes that occur in microgravity environments. These changes include fluid shifts, decreased physical activity, and altered cardiac function, which can lead to cardiovascular deconditioning and an increased risk of heart disease. Astronauts on long-duration space missions are therefore closely monitored for signs of cardiovascular problems, and exercise programs and other countermeasures are implemented to mitigate these risks.
