Biosensor

A biosensor is a device that uses biological molecules, such as enzymes or antibodies, to detect and measure the presence of a specific substance in a sample. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, biosensors can be used to monitor the health of astronauts by detecting biomarkers in their bodily fluids, such as blood or urine. Biosensors can also be used to detect microbial contamination in spacecraft or on other surfaces in space. The development of biosensors for space applications requires consideration of the unique challenges of the space environment, such as microgravity, radiation, and limited resources.
