AVHRR

Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) is a sensor that is used to collect data on the Earth's surface and atmosphere from space. It is carried on board NOAA's polar orbiting satellites and provides global coverage of the Earth's surface every 12 hours. The sensor measures the radiation emitted and reflected by the Earth in five spectral bands, including visible, near-infrared, and thermal infrared. The data collected by AVHRR is used for a variety of applications, including weather forecasting, climate monitoring, and environmental management.
