Aircraft Stall
In the context of aerospace engineering, an aircraft stall refers to a sudden reduction in the lift generated by the wings of an aircraft, which is usually caused by the aircraft's angle of attack exceeding a certain value. This value, known as the critical angle of attack, is the angle at which the flow of air over the wing becomes turbulent and the lift is significantly reduced. When an aircraft stalls, it can no longer maintain its level of flight and begins to descend. Stalls can occur in any phase of flight, but they are particularly dangerous during takeoff and landing, when the aircraft is close to the ground and has little time to recover. To recover from a stall, the pilot must reduce the aircraft's angle of attack to below the critical angle, allowing the flow of air over the wings to become smooth again and the lift to be restored.
