Air Conditioning

Air conditioning is the process of controlling the temperature, humidity, and air quality of a space to provide a comfortable and healthy environment for humans and equipment. In space and astronautical engineering, air conditioning is a critical component of spacecraft design, as it helps regulate the temperature and humidity levels inside the spacecraft, which can affect the performance of equipment and the health of astronauts. Spacecraft air conditioning systems use a combination of heating, cooling, and ventilation to maintain a stable environment. The systems must also be designed to operate in the vacuum of space, where there is no air to conduct heat away from the spacecraft. Advanced air conditioning technologies, such as regenerative life support systems, are being developed to enable long-duration space missions and reduce the reliance on resupply missions.
