Acoustic Noise

Acoustic noise refers to the unwanted sound generated by various sources in the space environment that can interfere with the communication and operation of spacecraft and instruments. The sources of acoustic noise include rocket engines, thrusters, pumps, fans, and other mechanical equipment. Acoustic noise can cause structural damage to spacecraft and affect the performance of sensitive instruments. Therefore, it is important to measure and mitigate acoustic noise during the design and testing of spacecraft. Acoustic testing is conducted to simulate the noise levels that a spacecraft will experience during launch and operation. The data obtained from acoustic testing is used to improve the design of spacecraft and to develop noise reduction techniques.
