Zephyr

Zephyr is a high-altitude, solar-powered unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) designed for long-endurance flights in the stratosphere. It is capable of flying at an altitude of up to 70,000 feet and can stay aloft for months at a time, providing a low-cost alternative to satellites for a range of applications, including earth observation, telecommunications, and atmospheric research. The Zephyr is made of lightweight carbon fiber and has a wingspan of 25 meters. It is powered by solar panels that charge lithium-sulfur batteries during the day, allowing it to fly through the night. The Zephyr is controlled remotely from the ground and can be repositioned to different locations as needed.
