Weather Balloons
Weather balloons are balloons equipped with meteorological instruments that are sent into the atmosphere to gather data about the weather. These balloons are typically made of latex or synthetic rubber and can reach altitudes of up to 40 km. As the balloon rises, it expands due to the decreasing atmospheric pressure. The instruments attached to the balloon measure various atmospheric parameters such as temperature, humidity, pressure, and wind speed and direction. The data collected by the instruments is transmitted back to the ground station via a radio transmitter. Weather balloons are an important tool for weather forecasting and research, as they provide valuable information about the atmosphere that cannot be obtained by other means.
