Temperature Extremes

Temperature Extremes refer to the range of temperatures that spacecraft and their components are exposed to during their mission. These extremes can range from extremely high temperatures when a spacecraft is close to a star or planet, to extremely low temperatures when a spacecraft is in deep space or in the shadow of a planet. Temperature extremes can cause a variety of problems for spacecraft, including thermal stress, material degradation, and changes in the performance of electronic components. Engineers must design spacecraft to withstand these extremes and develop thermal control systems to regulate the temperature of critical components.
