Synthetic Fiber
In space and astronautical engineering, synthetic fiber refers to any fiber made by humans using chemical synthesis, as opposed to natural fibers that are directly derived from living organisms. Synthetic fibers are used in various applications in space, including spacesuits, parachutes, and spacecraft insulation. These fibers are preferred over natural fibers due to their superior strength, durability, and resistance to extreme temperatures and radiation. Some common synthetic fibers used in space include nylon, polyester, and Kevlar.
