Supersonic Passenger Airliner
A supersonic passenger airliner is an aircraft designed to transport passengers at speeds greater than the speed of sound. These aircraft use advanced aerodynamic designs and propulsion systems to achieve supersonic speeds, typically Mach 1.5 or higher. The first supersonic passenger airliner was the Concorde, which operated from 1976 to 2003. Supersonic passenger airliners offer significant reductions in travel time for long-haul flights, but also present technical and economic challenges, including high fuel consumption, noise pollution, and high development and operating costs.
