Space Data Link Protocol

Space Data Link Protocol (SDLP) is a set of rules and procedures used for communication between spacecraft and ground stations or between spacecraft. It defines the structure of data messages, the timing of message exchanges, and the error detection and correction mechanisms. SDLP is designed to operate in the harsh environment of space, where communication links are subject to interference, noise, and signal degradation. It provides reliable and efficient communication by using advanced modulation and coding techniques, adaptive power control, and frequency management. SDLP supports various types of data, such as telemetry, telecommand, and payload data, and can handle different data rates and formats. It also includes security features to protect the confidentiality and integrity of the data. SDLP is widely used in space missions by space agencies, such as NASA, ESA, JAXA, and CNSA.
