Side Force

In space and astronautical engineering, Side Force refers to the force that acts on a spacecraft or a vehicle moving through a fluid or gas, perpendicular to the direction of motion. This force is generated due to the asymmetry of the vehicle's shape or the angle of attack. Side force can cause the vehicle to deviate from its intended path and affect its stability and control. It is an important factor to consider during the design and operation of spacecraft, aircraft, and missiles.
