SEUs
Single Event Upsets (SEUs) are a type of radiation-induced error that can occur in electronic devices, including those used in space and astronautical engineering. SEUs are caused by high-energy particles, such as cosmic rays, colliding with the sensitive components of electronic devices, which can cause temporary or permanent changes in their state. This can result in errors or malfunctions in the device, which can be particularly dangerous in critical systems used in space missions. To mitigate the effects of SEUs, engineers use a variety of techniques, such as shielding, redundancy, and error-correcting codes.
