Scintillation Detectors

Scintillation detectors are devices used to detect and measure ionizing radiation by converting the energy of the radiation into visible light. They consist of a scintillator material, which emits light when excited by ionizing radiation, and a photodetector, which converts the emitted light into an electrical signal. Scintillation detectors are commonly used in space and astronautical engineering for radiation detection and dosimetry, as well as in medical imaging and nuclear physics research.
