Satellite telecommunications systems can be categorized into three types: geostationary satellites (GEO), low Earth orbit satellites (LEO), and medium Earth orbit satellites (MEO). Each type operates at a different altitude and has unique characteristics that make it suitable for specific applications. For instance, GEO satellites are ideal for television broadcasting and weather monitoring, while LEO satellites are used for data communication such as internet connectivity.
