Sabatier Process

The Sabatier Process is a chemical reaction that involves the reaction of carbon dioxide and hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst to produce methane and water. This process is commonly used in space and astronautical engineering as a method of producing methane fuel for rocket propulsion and life support systems. The process is also used to recycle carbon dioxide from the atmosphere of spacecraft and space stations, converting it into usable resources. The Sabatier Process is an important technology for long-duration space missions, as it allows for the production of fuel and life support resources from waste materials. The process was named after the French chemist Paul Sabatier, who discovered the reaction in 1897.
