Psychrometer

A psychrometer is a device used to measure relative humidity in the atmosphere. It consists of two thermometers, one of which is a dry bulb thermometer and the other is a wet bulb thermometer. The wet bulb thermometer is covered with a wet wick and the evaporation of water from the wick cools the thermometer. By comparing the readings of the two thermometers, the relative humidity can be determined using a psychrometric chart. In space and astronautical engineering, psychrometers can be used to measure the humidity levels inside spacecraft and habitats, as well as in the atmosphere of other planets and moons.
