Psychological Effects

Psychological Effects refer to the impact that space travel and living in space have on the mental and emotional well-being of astronauts. These effects can include feelings of isolation, anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances, as well as changes in mood, cognition, and interpersonal relationships. Factors that contribute to these effects include the physical and social isolation of space travel, the high-stress environment, the lack of privacy, and the exposure to radiation and other environmental stressors. To mitigate these effects, astronauts undergo extensive psychological training and support before, during, and after space missions, and participate in activities such as exercise, relaxation techniques, and communication with loved ones on Earth.
