Prisms

In space and astronautical engineering, prisms are optical devices that can be used to split light into its constituent colors or to deflect light by a specified angle. Prisms are used in various space applications such as telescopes, spectrometers, and cameras. They are also used in spacecraft navigation systems to measure the angle between the spacecraft and a reference point. Prisms can be made from different materials such as glass, quartz, and plastic, and their shape and size can vary depending on the application. The design of prisms is critical to ensure that they can withstand the harsh space environment, including extreme temperatures, radiation, and vacuum conditions.
