Polar Orbits

Polar orbits are a type of orbit that passes over or near the Earth's geographic poles. These orbits are often used for Earth observation and remote sensing missions, as they provide complete coverage of the planet's surface. Polar orbits are also used for some types of scientific missions, such as studying the Earth's atmosphere, climate, and magnetic field. Satellites in polar orbits typically travel at lower altitudes than those in equatorial orbits, which allows for higher resolution imaging and data collection. However, polar orbits require more energy to achieve than equatorial orbits, as the satellite must overcome the Earth's rotation. Additionally, polar orbits are not ideal for communication or navigation purposes, as they do not provide continuous coverage of any particular region.
