Payload Adapter

A Payload Adapter is a device that connects a spacecraft to its payload, which is the object or objects that the spacecraft is carrying into space. The adapter is responsible for securing the payload during launch and release, and for providing power and data connections between the spacecraft and the payload. Payload adapters come in a variety of shapes and sizes, depending on the type of spacecraft and payload being launched. They can be designed to release the payload at a specific time or location, or to separate the payload from the spacecraft entirely. Payload adapters are critical components of any space mission, as they ensure that the payload is delivered safely and accurately to its intended destination.
