Overload Protection

Overload protection is a safety feature in space and astronautical engineering that prevents damage or failure of a system or component due to excessive load or stress. This feature is particularly important in spacecraft and launch vehicles, where the failure of a single component can have catastrophic consequences. Overload protection can be achieved through various means, such as using materials with high strength-to-weight ratios, designing components with built-in redundancy, and implementing sensors and control systems that monitor and regulate loads. In addition, simulations and testing are often used to ensure that systems and components can withstand expected loads and stresses during operation.
