Ocean Landing

Ocean landing refers to the act of safely landing a spacecraft or a rocket stage on the surface of an ocean. This technique is commonly used in space missions as a way to recover spacecraft or rocket stages that are not designed to withstand the high temperatures and stresses of re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere. Ocean landing is often used for the recovery of crewed spacecraft, such as the Apollo missions, as well as for the recovery of rocket stages, such as those used in the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The process of ocean landing involves the use of parachutes, flotation devices, and recovery ships to retrieve the spacecraft or rocket stage from the ocean. Ocean landing is a critical aspect of space missions as it allows for the recovery and reuse of expensive spacecraft and rocket stages, reducing the cost of space exploration and making it more sustainable.
