Observation Angles


Observation angles refer to the angles between the line of sight from a sensor to a target and the local normal to the target surface. In space and astronautical engineering, observation angles are important for remote sensing applications, such as Earth observation, planetary exploration, and space situational awareness. The observation angles affect the spatial resolution, radiometric accuracy, and geometric distortion of the acquired images or data.
