Neutron Reflector
A neutron reflector is a material that reflects neutrons back into a nuclear reactor core, increasing the probability of further fission events. It is typically made of a material with a high neutron scattering cross-section, such as graphite or beryllium. The reflector is placed around the core of the reactor to reduce neutron leakage and increase the efficiency of the reactor. Neutron reflectors can also be used in nuclear weapons to increase the yield of the explosion by reflecting neutrons back into the core. However, the use of neutron reflectors in weapons is highly regulated and restricted under international treaties.
