Neutrinos
Neutrinos are subatomic particles that are electrically neutral, have very little mass, and interact only through the weak subatomic force and gravity. They are produced by nuclear reactions such as those that occur in the Sun, in nuclear reactors, and in supernovae. Neutrinos are difficult to detect because they rarely interact with matter, passing through the Earth and even the Sun with little or no interaction. However, they can be detected using large detectors that are shielded from other particles. The study of neutrinos is important in understanding the fundamental nature of matter and the universe, as well as in practical applications such as nuclear power generation and medical imaging.
