Nernst Equation

The Nernst equation is a fundamental equation in electrochemistry that relates the standard electrode potential, temperature, and activities (often approximated by concentrations) of chemical species participating in a redox reaction. It describes the equilibrium potential for an electrochemical cell. The equation is named after the German physical chemist Walther Nernst, who first formulated it in 1889.
