Multiplexer

In space and astronautical engineering, a multiplexer is a device that combines multiple input signals into a single output signal. It is commonly used in spacecraft communication systems to transmit multiple streams of data over a single communication channel. The multiplexer selects one input signal at a time and transmits it to the output, while the other input signals are temporarily stored. This allows for efficient use of limited communication bandwidth and reduces the complexity and weight of the communication system. Multiplexers can also be used in other spacecraft systems, such as telemetry and control, to combine multiple sensor readings or control signals into a single data stream.
