Martian Atmosphere

Martian Atmosphere refers to the gaseous envelope surrounding the planet Mars. It is composed mainly of carbon dioxide (95.32%), nitrogen (2.7%), and argon (1.6%), with trace amounts of oxygen, water vapor, and methane. The atmosphere of Mars is much thinner than Earth's, with a surface pressure averaging about 1% of Earth's atmospheric pressure at sea level. The thin atmosphere of Mars has important implications for the planet's climate, weather, and potential habitability. It also poses significant challenges for spacecraft landing and atmospheric entry, as well as for human exploration and settlement. Understanding the Martian atmosphere is therefore a key area of research in space and astronautical engineering.
