Interferometry

Interferometry is a technique that uses the interference of waves to make precise measurements of the properties of light, sound, or other waves. In space and astronautical engineering, interferometry is used to measure the distance between two objects with extreme accuracy, such as the distance between two spacecraft or the distance between a spacecraft and a planet. Interferometry can also be used to create high-resolution images of objects in space, such as stars, planets, and galaxies. This is done by combining the light from multiple telescopes to create a single, high-resolution image. Interferometry is an important tool in space exploration and astronomy, as it allows scientists to study objects in space with unprecedented detail and accuracy.
