Induction Heating
Induction heating is a non-contact heating process that uses high frequency alternating current (AC) to generate eddy currents within the material being heated. These eddy currents create resistance and heat the material. In space and astronautical engineering, induction heating is used for various applications such as brazing, welding, and heat treating of metals. Induction heating is particularly useful in space applications because it does not require a flame or contact with the material, making it a safer and more efficient heating method in zero-gravity environments.
