Hydrogen Maser


A hydrogen maser is a type of atomic clock that uses the hyperfine transition of hydrogen atoms to measure time. It operates by stimulating the atoms to emit microwave radiation in a manner similar to the laser, but at much longer wavelengths. The hydrogen maser is the most accurate type of atomic clock, with a precision of about one second in 3 million years. It is used in many applications that require precise timekeeping, such as satellite navigation systems, deep space communication, and scientific experiments.
