High Resolution Picture Transmission (HRPT)
High Resolution Picture Transmission (HRPT) is a digital transmission system used to transmit high-resolution satellite imagery and other meteorological data from polar-orbiting weather satellites to ground receiving stations. The HRPT system operates in the microwave frequency range and uses a circularly polarized antenna to receive signals from the satellite. The received signals are then demodulated and decoded to produce high-resolution images of the Earth's surface. The HRPT system is used by meteorological agencies around the world to monitor weather patterns and to provide accurate weather forecasts.
