Heavy Elements

Heavy elements are chemical elements with atomic numbers greater than 92 (the atomic number of uranium). These elements are typically produced in supernova explosions and are extremely rare on Earth. In space and astronautical engineering, heavy elements are of interest because they can be used as fuel for nuclear reactors in spacecraft. However, the use of heavy elements in space travel is still in the experimental stage due to the challenges of handling and storing radioactive materials in space. Additionally, heavy elements can also be used in radiation shielding to protect astronauts from harmful cosmic radiation during long-duration space missions.
