Heat Pump

A heat pump is a device that transfers heat from a colder area to a hotter area, using mechanical work. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, heat pumps are commonly used in spacecraft thermal control systems to regulate the temperature of the spacecraft and its components. Heat pumps can be used to transfer heat from the spacecraft to the surrounding space, or to transfer heat from one part of the spacecraft to another. They are particularly useful in space applications because they can operate in a vacuum and can transfer heat over long distances. Heat pumps can be powered by a variety of sources, including solar power, nuclear power, and chemical reactions.
