Ground Track

In space and astronautical engineering, Ground Track refers to the path that a satellite or spacecraft follows as it orbits around the Earth. It is the projection of the satellite's orbit onto the Earth's surface, and it can be visualized as a line or curve on a map. The ground track is determined by the satellite's altitude, inclination, and the rotation of the Earth. As the Earth rotates beneath the satellite, the ground track appears to move westward. The ground track is important for tracking and communicating with the satellite, as well as for predicting its future position and path.
