GOES Next
GOES Next is a series of geostationary weather satellites that will replace the current GOES-R series. The satellites will be equipped with advanced instruments to provide more accurate and timely weather forecasts, severe weather warnings, and environmental monitoring. The GOES Next program is a collaboration between NASA and NOAA, with NASA responsible for the development and launch of the satellites, and NOAA responsible for their operation and data distribution. The first satellite in the series, GOES-T, is scheduled to launch in December 2021.
