The signals transmitted from these satellites are used for various applications including television broadcasting, weather forecasting, and global navigation. The geostationary orbit's high altitude allows these satellites to cover a large portion of the Earth's surface, making them ideal for providing telecommunications services to remote areas. However, the high altitude also results in a delay in signal transmission, which can be a disadvantage for certain applications such as real-time communication.
